Raffy Dorian D.V.M., M.P.V.M.
My Story
Dr. Raffy Dorian’s career in veterinary medicine spans over two decades, combining clinical excellence, entrepreneurial innovation, and a deep commitment to the equine community. Born and raised in Fresno, California, Dr. Dorian studied Animal Science at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo before completing his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at UC Davis in 1996. He later returned to UC Davis to earn a Master’s in Preventive Veterinary Medicine (MPVM) in 1999. His areas of interest include internal medicine, preventive care, and emergency medicine.
Throughout his career, Dr. Dorian has served equine clients across San Luis Obispo, Santa Cruz, and San Diego counties. He founded Mobile Veterinary Practice in 2001, an equine and small animal ambulatory service. He has served as the official veterinarian for high-profile equestrian and livestock events, including the Del Mar National Dressage Show, Cuyamaca Ride and Tie, Lakeside Rodeo, and Cal Poly Rodeo.
In 2017, Dr. Dorian returned to the Central Coast to establish Central Coast Veterinary Services (CCVS) — a mobile mixed animal practice dedicated to providing high-quality, on-site veterinary care to equine clients. Under his leadership, CCVS expanded in 2025 to a large animal practice only with a growing team of veterinarians.
Dr. Dorian is an active member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, American Veterinary Medical Association, and California Veterinary Medical Association. He is also a dedicated mentor to veterinary students and has served as a lecturer at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, a guest lecturer at multiple colleges, and a mentor to over one hundred aspiring veterinarians.
When he is not around horses, Dr. Dorian can often be found supporting the local animal community, educating the next generation of veterinarians, and advocating for animal welfare at both local and state levels.
