My Story
Dr. Burd is a graduate of the University of California, School of Veterinary Medicine, Class of ‘96. As a student, Dr. Burd was involved with several research projects that would take him to the racetrack and eventually contribute to the CHRB sanctioned Racing Injury Prevention Program. It was a natural transition where Dr. Burd began his career practicing medicine with Dr. Bill Grantham at Bay Area racetracks including Bay Meadows and Golden Gate Fields; it was at Bay Meadows racetrack that he met his wife of 20 years Marie Goda. After the racetrack, Dr. Burd settled in the Santa Ynez valley and practiced high quality sports medicine under the guidance of the well-known orthopedic veterinarian, Dr. Van Snow. Eventually, Dr. Burd established his own private practices in Hawaii and the central California coast where he lives and works today. He considers himself extraordinarily fortunate to be able to provide the highest quality veterinary care.
