Dr. Jennifer Staniec joined Central Coast Vet Services in June of 2022. She came from Cal Poly SLO after six years as a faculty member in the Animal Science Department teaching various courses for pre-vet students. Before 2016, she was a general practitioner at various local animal clinics treating small, large and even exotic companion animals.

Dr. Staniec grew up on a brood mare farm in middle Tennessee and attended Auburn University, earning a bachelor’s degree in zoology in 1993 and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. After graduating, she accepted her first job at a mixed animal hospital in San Luis Obispo and has stayed in the area ever since.

Dr. Staniec is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the California Veterinary Medical Association, and the Mid-Coast Veterinary Medical Association.

When not working as a veterinarian, she enjoys being a mother of three, running, traveling and reading. Her furry and feathered family includes a dog, two cats and 8 chickens.
